The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is responsible for the administration of mandatory consumer product safety and information standards created under the Trade Practices Act 1974. These include the Consumer Product Safety Standard for Bunk Beds, on which the ACCC is currently conducting a review.
Visit the ACCC Website here for more information, including the ACCC supplier guide and a copy of the Consumer Product Safety Standard for Bunk Beds
The ACCC is alerting suppliers of children’s products to potential changes to three product safety standards (mandatory standards) for cots, prams and strollers and bunk beds. Further information can be found here on their Website.
Please note submissions can be made to the ACCC through an online questionnaire or a written response by 15 September 2014.
